NCYTTA was founded in 2023 by a group of high school table tennis players in North Carolina who wanted to share their love of the sport and make a lasting impact on the community. We've since grown to include current college students at UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Charlotte, where we continue to spearhead initiatives and further our mission!

Executive Board
Meet our founders and exec board! NCYTTA began as a small group of passionate high school table tennis players, united by their love for the sport and a commitment to fostering community. Over the years, we’ve grown to include college students who share our dedication to community service and promoting health through table tennis. Join us as we continue to build connections and inspire others through the joy of the game!

President/Co-Founder
Isabella (Bella) Xu
Bella is a pre-public health student at UNC Chapel Hill and is passionate about community engagement and investing in others’ well-being. She is a former U.S. National Table Tennis Team athlete and has won national and international titles. Her hobbies include reading, writing, running, eating, and spontaneous side-questing.
Co-Founder
Changbo (Chad) Lu
Chad is a business student at Wake Tech Community College. He has won a collection of national tournaments, including champion and finalist titles in the 2023 NC State Championship.
Vice President/Co-Founder
Bryce Milford
Bryce is a psychology student at UNC Charlotte, where he often trains with members of the U.S. Paralympic Table Tennis Team. He is a 4x Hardbat World Junior Boys Champion, 4x National Junior Hardbat Champion, and 2024 Sandpaper World Junior Champion. He enjoys helping others, going to the gym, and cooking.

Anna Wheat
Anna is a psychology student at UNC Chapel Hill from Buffalo, New York. She loves playing tennis and pickleball with her friends and supporting the community. While at UNC, Anna hopes to engage in research and outreach initiatives to promote psychology and neuroscience.

Nadia is a Neuroscience and Psychology double major at UNC Chapel Hill who loves playing violin, doing puzzles, and working out. She's excited to help promote NCYTTA events and make our fundraisers a success.

Avi is a neuroscience major and chemistry minor at UNC Chapel Hill from Rocky Mount, North Carolina. His hobbies include playing piano and soccer.

Jose is a biology student at UNC Chapel Hill who enjoys playing table tennis, spending time outdoors, and giving back to his community through volunteering. In his free time, he loves exploring the outdoors and considers himself a bit of a coffee connoisseur.

Denise is a neuroscience student at UNC Chapel Hill from Asbury, New Jersey. She enjoys playing tennis and other racket sports, hiking, baking, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering to support others.

Shreya is a neuroscience student at UNC Chapel Hill from Lake Norman, NC. She is on the pre-pharmacy track and loves helping the community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and going to concerts.

Daniel Beyene
Daniel brings extensive experience in sports media and table tennis administration, serving as the Secretary for the ITTF Africa Media Committee and founder of Ping Pong for Children Ethiopia. A former member of the Ethiopian national table tennis team with a background in Computer Science, he combines athletic insight and technical precision in his work. As Video Editor for NCYTTA, he leverages dynamic visual storytelling and creative media expertise to highlight athlete achievements and promote the growth of youth table tennis.

Justin Kim
Justin is a high school student at Livingston High School in New Jersey who wants to pursue computer science and engineering. He is a class 6 para table tennis athlete who plays for the U.S. in international tournaments. Besides table tennis, Justin enjoys skiing, programming, and contributing to society through his skills.

Hong Lin
Hong Lin is a professional table tennis athlete and U.S. National Team Coach from Shandong, China. She holds a multitude of national and international achievements as a player, including the Women's Singles Champion title at the 2024 U.S. National Championships. She currently represents the Carolina Gold Rush team in Major League Table Tennis (MLTT). Since transitioning into coaching in 2013, Lin has focused on developing elite junior athletes and has coached multiple members of the U.S. Junior & Senior National Teams and international-level competitors. Hong is passionate about investing in long-term athlete development, technical precision, and building structured environments that prepare her students physically and mentally to compete at the highest levels and succeed in their lives beyond sports competition.
